Project overview

Student clubs propose events, faculty approve them, students register, and organisers check attendees in with a QR scan on the day. The portal replaces the usual mix of forms, spreadsheets and paper attendance sheets.

The scope is friendly for a first serious full stack project while still including an approval workflow and a real-world check-in feature that makes the demo interesting.

Problem statement

Campus events are coordinated through posters and messaging groups. Registration counts are unreliable, approvals are untracked, attendance is recorded on paper, and no one can produce a summary afterwards for the annual report.
